The O’Shea lab is interested in systems and molecular analysis
of signal transduction and transcriptional regulation. Many of our
studies make use of two model systems in budding yeast: (1) the Pho
pathway, which allows cells to sense and respond to changes in environmental
levels of inorganic phosphate, and (2) the Hog pathway, involved in
responding to osmotic stress.
