Caroline Shamu is an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School (appointed in the Department of Radiology at MGH and in the BCMP Department at HMS) and the Director of the ICCB-Longwood Screening Facility (http://iccb.med.harvard.edu/).  ICCB-Longwood provides high throughput small molecule and RNAi screening resources to the academic community.  Before joining ICCB-L in 2000, Caroline received her Ph.D. in Cell Biology from the University of California San Francisco, where she worked with Peter Walter on the unfolded protein response. She carried out postdoctoral work with Tom Rapoport in the Department of Cell Biology at Harvard Medical School. In addition to her interests in assay development and high throughput screening technology, Dr. Shamu is active in the development of data standards and repositories for large-scale datasets.
