Research

Aneuploidy, a condition in which cells have too few or too many chromosomes, is a hallmark of cancer genomes and the main cause of infertility in humans. My research aims to understand the causes and evolutionary consequences of aneuploidy using the budding yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae as a model organism. I am currently conducting this research in the laboratory of Dr. Andrew Murray. Prior to joining the Murray Lab, I did my PhD at the Stowers Institute for Medical Research in the lab of Dr. SaraH Zanders where I studied the effect that meiotic drivers have in genome evolution and the evolution of the chromosome segregation machinery.
