My project is a collaboration between the Lichtman and Engert labs. The primary goal of this work is to pair structural and functional imaging to uncover the organizational logic of brain networks. Using the zebrafish larvae as a model system I apply serial electron microscopy to map neuronal networks at nanoscale synaptic resolution and register it with corresponding neuronal activity of the same animal. This project will provide better understanding of the connectivity scheme between cells of various morphological and functional types.
