The Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology invites all members of the MCB community to attend the next MCB Community Forum on Friday, April 17, at 4:00 pm in the BioLabs Lecture Hall 1080. This event provides an opportunity for students, postdocs, faculty, and staff to come together, share perspectives, and engage in open discussion about issues that matter to the department.
As in previous years, the forum will include updates from departmental leadership, followed by an interactive discussion shaped by community input. Attendees are encouraged to help guide the conversation by submitting questions or suggested topics in advance. Topics can be sent via email to mcb_ctf@fas.harvard.edu or submitted anonymously through the online form.
Please note: Participants should plan to arrive on time with a cell phone in hand, as the forum will include a live questionnaire. Responses will be collected and discussed toward the end of the event, helping to surface shared priorities and perspectives from across the community.
In addition, there are two important upcoming deadlines connected to MCB community initiatives:
- The nomination deadline for the 2026 MCB Mentorship Awards has been extended to April 1 at midnight. Community members are encouraged to recognize outstanding mentors by submitting nominations. The winner of this year’s Mentorship Award will be announced at the Community Forum.
- The deadline to nominate a middle school student for a free week of BioCamp has also been extended to April 1 at midnight. This program offers a unique opportunity to inspire young students through hands-on science experiences. The raffle winner will be announced at the Community Forum.
The MCB Community Forum is an important space for dialogue, reflection, and collective action. We encourage all members of the community to attend and contribute to the conversation.
The Forum – with TGIF pizza and beverages provided – will last about an hour, and there will be no A Slice of Science talks on this day.
