Neil H. Shubin to Give 2026 Prather Lectures, April 15, 16, and 17

The Department of Organismic and Evolutionary Biology (OEB) will host the 2026 Prather Lectures from April 15–17, featuring renowned evolutionary biologist Neil H. Shubin, Robert R. Bensley Distinguished Service Professor at the University of Chicago and President-Elect of the National Academy of Sciences.

Shubin, best known for his discovery of Tiktaalik, a transitional fossil form between fish and early land vertebrates, and for his bestselling book Your Inner Fish, will present three talks exploring the evolutionary origins of the human body, walking, and limb development. The series includes a public lecture on April 15 at the Science Center, co-hosted by OEB along with the Harvard Museum of Natural History, followed by two research talks on April 16 and 17 in the Northwest Building.
