Venki Murthy returned this week from his summer “vacation” in balmy Santa Barbara, CA, where he coordinated an eight-week program on the ins and outs of olfaction. Hosted by the Kavli Institute for Theoretical Physics, located in the UCSB campus. “Deconstructing the Sense of Smell” gathered scientists from across disciplines and across the globe to pool their thoughts and findings on the complex mechanisms behind neural and behavioral response to olfactory stimuli.
