MCB Gift Drive Collects Dozens of Winter Coats for Cradles to Crayons

MCB’s Annual Holiday Gift Drive collected ten bags filled with winter coats for kids and one bag filled with new socks for the local nonprofit Cradles to Crayons. Almost $600 in monetary donations were raised through the gift drive, and MCB Administrative Coordinator Kelsey Cox used the funds to purchase additional coats. Cradles to Crayons will distribute these donated clothes to families in the Boston area that need them.

In a thank-you note to MCB, Cradles to Crayons Community Engagement Coordinator Emma Farnham wrote,“You and your group were able to collect enough winter coats, socks, and warm-wish notes to directly support 52 kids! Cradles to Crayons could not support all the children we do without the support of people like you. Once again, on behalf of all the families and children we serve, thank you so much for your hard work.”

Cradles to Crayons is motivated by the need to address clothing insecurity. Winter clothes and gear can be especially difficult for low-income families to afford. By focusing on winter coats for kids, the MCB community has helped make many children’s winters safer and happier.

For the additional personal touch, several MCB Community members took the time to write personal notes for the recipients of the gifts.

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to this year’s Gift Drive!
