THE FIRST ANNUAL MBB GRADUATE STUDENT CONFERENCE, MAY 12-13

THE FIRST ANNUAL MBB GRADUATE STUDENT CONFERENCE, MAY 12-13

The Mind/Brain/Behavior Interfaculty Initiative (MBB) is an interdisciplinary community of investigators and students, whose aim is a better understanding of the nature and function of the brain. MBB recently launched a graduate student working group to facilitate interaction among graduate students from a variety of disciplines, ranging from philosophy to molecular and cellular biology. To foster communication among students studying thought from different perspectives and approaches, the graduate student members of MBB are pleased to announce their first annual conference, “The Nature of Thought.”

The broad topic is organized into four subgroups: “Language and Thought,” “The Brain and Thought,” “Computers and Thought” and “Evolution and Thought.” Invited speakers will present on each topic, followed by graduate student talks. The conference will present broad viewpoints in the study of cognition, and provide an opportunity for interdisciplinary discussion about diverse challenges, for a better understanding of thought.

The conference will be held on May 12 and 13 in The Sperry Room, Andover Hall at the Harvard Divinity School. For program information, please visit: http://mbb.harvard.edu/natureofthought/program.html.
