Hello! My name is Aditya, but I usually go by Deets – I did my undergrad at Northeastern University. While there, I joined a lab thinking it would look good for medical school applications, but I quickly realized that generating hypotheses and making discoveries was a lot more fun to me than shadowing doctors and facing massive debt. So, after college I worked in Mike Crickmore’s lab (in Longwood), studying how motivational state biases decision making in Drosophila. Now, for my thesis in David Rudner’s Lab, I want to understand how bacterial spores protect themselves and process information without using cellular energy. Outside of lab I love to walk, run, or bike around Boston while listening to an audiobook.
