I am a fourth year Molecular Biology PhD student at Harvard University where I am fortunate to be advised by Dr. Anna Greka. Prior to grad school I completed my undergrad in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at UMass Amherst after having grown up in Germany. Outside research, I am an avid tennis player and a director of the Harvard Biotech Club.
Research Interests:
I am passionate about research in genetic diseases and the development of novel therapeutics. My current work aims to address an unmet need for disease-agnostic therapeutic targets for protein accumulation diseases, specifically focusing on the chronic liver and lung disease Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency. More concretely, in my ongoing thesis research I have discovered a new regulator of misfolded Alpha-1 Antitrypsin, and am uncovering the underlying biological mechanisms of said regulator and exploring its potential as a therapeutic target for treating chronic liver disease in Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency.
