Prior to grad school, I spent 3 years studying cilia/centrosome biology. I investigated centriole biogenesis by combining cell culture with expansion microscopy. During this time, I developed a passion for understanding biological processes through the lens of a microscope. This prompted me to join the Gredler lab where I am investigating developmental tissue patterning and the underlying mechanisms that drive those processes. More specifically, how cells collectively remodel their architecture to establish epithelial structures.
