Neuroscience concentrator Daniyal Sachee (‘23) has been elected to the 2023 Senior Class Committee, where he will serve as a program marshal. The class committee includes both program marshals who organize events during the lead-up to graduation and gift marshals who lead the Senior Gift campaign, as well as the First and Second Marshal who coordinate the committee’s activities overall. Program marshals also have a hand in planning alumni events later on.
“I wanted to run for class marshal as a way to stay actively involved in the Harvard Community post graduation as well as be involved in planning memorable events for my class such as Senior Week and reunions!” Sachee says. “It is such an honor to serve as an ambassador for the class of 2023 especially as an international student.”
He adds, “To be honest, I am just SO excited to begin planning Senior Week! As our last week before we graduate it serves as one of the most memorable experiences of our time at college. I want to plan the week with this mentality and ensure everyone gets to do things that they want to do. A form will go out to the class in the next few weeks with some questions prompts to fill out your preferences about what your ideal Senior week would look like and so please do fill it out so we can start planning effectively!”
“Daniyal will be a phenomenal class Marshal,” says Assistant Director of Undergraduate Studies in Neuroscience Ryan Draft. “He is a brilliant and adventurous scholar with a wide range of interests and accomplishments that span the sciences, music, athletics, teaching, and service. His energetic and outgoing personality has been an integral part of our community. I am confident he will make this year’s graduation events really special for the class of 2023.”
Sachee also expressed gratitude to the Neuroscience and MCB community. “The MCB/Neuro community has given me an identity at Harvard,” he says. “The faculty is amazing and so supportive and I am honored to be a part of this community. A special shoutout to my advisor, Ryan Draft, for being among the absolute best advisors out there!”
