Four MCB Concentrators and Two CPB Concentrators Inducted into PBK Honor Society

The Harvard chapter of Phi Beta Kappa (PBK), the oldest and most prestigious academic honor society in the United States, inducts approximately 96 graduating seniors each May. This year, the 2019 “Senior 96” includes MCB concentrators Jett Crowdis (‘19), Gui Zhen Chen (‘19), Serena Hoost (‘19), and Val Leifer (‘19) and CPB concentrators Max Miao (‘19) and Daniel Kim (‘19).

Candidates for election into PBK must demonstrate outstanding academic achievement across a broad range of subjects. Final decisions are made based on the students’ GPA, academic transcripts, and recommendation letters from faculty.

Upon their election to PBK, students become part of an academic tradition that stretches back to the society’s founding in 1776. In addition to fostering free speech and recognizing excellence, PBK offers networking opportunities and produces several publications and podcasts.

Congratulations to these six outstanding students on their achievement!
