Save the Date for MCB Community Forum on December 1st

On Friday, December 1st, MCB will host its first community forum of the semester where speakers will respond to pre-submitted questions. The event is the result of organizing efforts by the Community Task Force (CTF) on Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (EDIB) and is an opportunity for the extended MCB community to ask questions and raise issues. There will also be time for speakers to take questions at the event.

The forum will take place from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM in BioLabs 1080 and will occur in lieu of Friday Talks@4 that week.

The lineup of speakers at the community forum will be determined based on what questions and topics MCB community members submit beforehand.

There are several ways to submit questions and topics:

There will be a drop box in the BioLounge, and questions can also be submitted online through this anonymous reporting form or by sending an email to mcb_diversity@fas.harvard.edu. Julia Fannon, MCB’s Assistant Director of Human Resources and Lead Administrator of the CTF, will be available for in-person questions and discussions in the BioLounge on the following dates: Thursday, November 9 from 1:00 PM-4:00 PM; Monday November 13 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM; and Wednesday November 15 from 2:00 PM-5:00 PM.

The deadline for sending questions is Friday, November 17.

Please be aware that many decisions are made outside the department, but if we hear from you, early, we might be able to invite outside speakers.

The next CTF event after the community forum will be the Nett Lab Open House on December 8
