We study how the mechanical properties of proteins—their dynamics and response to external forces—contribute to protein function and shape protein evolution.
Doing so, we also develop new and improved experimental and computational methods.
In addition, we are improving and applying chemical imaging methods to understand when & how microbes change their physiological state.
