Olakunle A. Jaiyesimi is a Pharmacist with a Master Degree (Pharmacognosy) from Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria and a PhD (Natural and Synthetic Products/Metabolomics) obtained from the University of Sao Paulo, Ribeirao Preto, Brasil. After obtaining his doctoral degree, he did a Postdoctoral Fellowship programme at the School of Chemistry and Biochemistry, Georgia Institute of Technology where he applied Untargeted Metabolomics approaches to interrogating host-pathogen metabolic interactions in the context of Stony Corals and Cystic Fibrosis-associated pathogens and their host cells or environment. He is interested in gut-microbiome research and the application of untargeted metabolomics to gain insights into the underlying metabolism, and the metabolic implications or consequences of diverse phenotypes, including health and disease.
