About Me

I’m in Dr. Jason Buenrostro’s lab where I study chromatin biology and am working to develop new tools to help answer basic biology questions about gene regulation. I’m interested in how cells store their memories in their nuclear architecture!

I went to Wesleyan University for undergrad and got my first research experience working on epigenetics in yeast. I moved to biophysics and did my thesis work on the thermodynamics of interwoven DNA molecules — I’ve loved thinking about DNA structure ever since. After graduating, I worked for two years at Yale University studying immortal flatworms.

When I’m not doing science, I’m swimming across Walden Pond in the summer, rock climbing at Rumney in the fall, backcountry skiing in the winter, riding my motorcycle down the Charles in the spring, and playing jazz piano all year round!
