Next Friday, the Extavour Lab will open its doors to the Harvard community by hosting an open house. The event is open to the extended MCB community and is an opportunity for scientists as well as non-scientists to learn about their colleagues’ research. Activities will include hourlong lab tours in the morning, as well as the Friday Talks @4 and a TGIF poster session in the afternoon.
Sign-ups for the Extavour Lab tours are here. The first tour will begin at 10:00 AM, and the second tour session will start at 11:30 AM. Tour highlights will include “fly pushing,”dissections, and seeing the computer simulations the lab uses to learn more about their organisms. Signing up in advance is required for the tours, but not for the other events.
Lab open houses are an outreach effort led by the MCB Community Task Force on Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging. The Bellono Lab and the Engert Lab hosted the first two open houses in the series.
